Black Cat/Silver Sable Movie has Title and Director

Following last week's news on the Venom film, we've now got some details on the Black Cat and Silver Sable spin-off.  From The Hollywood Reporter, the movie, titled Silver and Black, will be directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, who is best known for her work on The Secret Life of Bees and Love and Basketball.  Chris Yost of the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok, and Lisa Joy of Westworld are working on the script. As of right now, the Silver and Black does not have a release date, but production is expected to this fall.

Black Cat and Silver Sable will be joining Venom in this Spider-Man spin-off universe.  It appears that these movies will indeed stand apart from Spider-Man and the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.  While it's a strange move on Sony's part, it will still be great to see these characters get some real screentime.  Venom has only appeared in the lackluster Spider-Man 3 for part at the end and Black Cat has only made a brief cameo as Felicia Hardy in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.  Silver Sable has never made an appearance in a major Marvel feature.  As more details emerge about the team-up between the master thief and mercenary, we'll be sure to post them here.

So what do you guys think? Fan of Gina Prince-Bythewood? Like the title for the movie? Let us know!
