Hellboy Reboot Possibly in Development

There is a new Hellboy film that might be coming and it's not the one you think.  You may recall that, a few months back, Guillermo Del Toro and Ron Perlman were discussing a Hellboy 3 with Universal studios who eventually said no.  However, the Hollyword Reporter released some news that might interest fans of the franchise: a reboot is in the works.  Unfortunately, Perlman and Del Toro are not currently involved.  Instead, David Habour (Jim Hopper in Stranger Things) is looking to be the new Hellboy and Neil Marshall (Game of Thrones, Westworld, Constantine) is in talks to direct.  Mike Mignola, the creator of Hellboy, will be involved in writing the script which is currently titled Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen

If you missed them the first time around, the Hellboy-verse revolves around a demonic creature named Hellboy (who would have guessed?) which is raised by a paranormal scientist in order to protect the world from evil.  Both the movies and comics feature all kinds of villains, from fairy generals to Nazi wizards; comic-wise, the Queen of Blood was a witch who lived in the time of King Arthur and went insane after learning too much magic.  The films didn't make all that much money when they released in the mid-2000s, hence the trouble in getting a 3rd film made. It appears here that someone is willing to take a risk in order to bring this comic book movie back to life in an era when comic book movies are way more popular.  Check back in with us for more details as they become known.

So what do you guys think? Fan of Hellboy? Looking forward to a new movie? Let us know!
