Just to get started on this review I will hold my hands up and say that I expected a cheap Deadpool rip off... We got a highly priced Deadpool rip off with some shiny extras and a few upgrades to the regular bits.

Oh! Killstrike seems to be a very personal story about a man that has to give up his childhood to be a man (i think a lot of readers can sympathise with that). Our hero has a new kid and a wife and has just found out that issue one of Killstrike sells for $100000. No more money worries, right?

That would be true if the character from the book didn't just appear to climb out of the pages and demand some sort of quest so that he can get home. Like I said earlier this is very much a Deadpoolesque character complete with pouches and the comedy of the unhinged killstrike misunderstanding the world really works. But this is not Deadpool. There is far more finesse in the story behind each joke is a plot point very similar to chew.

And speaking of chew the artwork of this book is delightfully twisted with only proportioned men, inconceivable guns and soon to be over the top blood.

My verdict on this book 9.5/10
Issue one is great but it remains to be seen if it can continue on top form. I think it can and look forward to it. I also scored highly due to the relatable main protagonist that I think every comic reader will enviably become and it's just nice to poke a little fun at our misfortune. - Matthew Ridout
