Robert Kirkman's Invincible is Getting a Movie

An article from the Hollywood Reporter has just revealed that Robert Kirkman's Invincible is going to be hitting the big screen.  The project is to be headed by Seth Rogan and Evan Goldberg.  This won't be the first comic adaptation that the two have worked on, with Goldberg writing for AMC's Preacher and Rogan producing.  The article suggests that the two will co-direct and write the script for the film and Robert Kirkman will be a producer on the project.

You probably know Robert Kirkman as the man responsible for writing The Walking Dead.  What you may not have known that he was also writing a superhero comic that just finished up last year after 144 issues.  Invincible is about a teenaged hero named Mark Grayson who is the son an alien superhero named Omni-Man.  The story follows Mark as he learns how to deal with highschool and his developing powers.  While it sounds A LOT like Superman, remember this is the same guy who writes The Walking Dead.  It's a more adult take on that same backstory and is seriously worth a look if you like The Walking Dead.  If the comics are anything to go by, expect the movie to be awesome.  No word on a release date yet, but keep an eye on our site for updates.

How about you guys? Did you read Invincible? Looking forward to a non-DC/Marvel superhero film? Let us know!
